Back at the restaurant, discover the secrets of Sicilian cuisine as you prepare classic dishes such as fresh pasta, macaroni, meat, and fish specialties. Have fun in the kitchen and then savor the meal you’ve created!

Depart from Taormina and drive to Siracusa, a UNESCO World Heritage Site founded by Corinthian colonists in 735 B.C. Begin your visit at the Neapolis Archaeological Park (admission not included), featuring the Greek Theatre, Roman Amphitheatre, and Paradise Quarry.

Continue to Ortygia Island, the historic heart of Siracusa, linked to the mainland by the Umbertino Bridge. Stroll its charming streets to admire the Baroque Cathedral (admission not included), Arethusa Fountain, Maniace Castle (external view), Temple of Apollo, and the beautiful palaces around Ortygia.

Visit two of the most important and best preserved UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Sicily: Villa Romana del Casale in Piazza Armerina and Valley of Temples in Agrigento.

Head to Piazza Armerina and visit the Villa Romana del Casale, containing the richest, largest and most complex collection of Roman mosaics in the world. Then continue to Agrigento to visit the famous Valley of Temples. These are among the greatest Greek ruins in the world, and the splendor of the temples in the Doric style, built during the 5th and 6th centuries B.C.

Today, meet your off-road driver for a journey to Etna Volcano. Along the way, you'll pause for a panoramic view of the unique basaltic lava canyon, known as the "Alcantara Gorges", carved by the Alcantara river. Passing through quaint villages like Castiglione di Sicilia, nestled on Mount Etna's slopes, you'll pass on Sicily's wine roads, surrounded by vineyards of Etna D.O.C. Arriving at a local winery, indulge in snacks and exceptional wines. A brief stop at the 2002 lava flow, accessed by jeep, leads you through lush chestnut and oak forests, revealing the aftermath of one of the most explosive eruptions in recent history. Concluding your journey, you'll stop at another local winery for wine tasting and lunch before returning to Taormina.

Please note that a jeep's maximum capacity is 6 passengers, however only 5 are guaranteed a window seat. In order to ensure a window seat for all passengers, you may book an additional vehicle.

Mount Etna is one of the world's most active volcanoes and one of the Europe's highest volcanoes. It has more than 400 craters, spread all over the Catania county. To the ancient Greeks, Mt. Etna was the realm of Vulcan, god of fire, and the home of the one-eyed monster known as the Cyclops. 

You will be taken to the South side of the Etna National Park (Rifugio Sapienza) and reach 6300ft with your private driver. Then you can take a walk to the “Silvestri” craters (last century eruption) and the newest lava flows and craters from the 2001/2003 eruptions or you can take a cable car to the top of the Volcano. Enjoy the desert moon atmosphere! Then, you will stop at a local winery for a light lunch and a wine tasting.

Meet your off-road driver and set off for a thrilling Jeep excursion on Mount Etna’s north side. Travel through chestnut and oak forests to the 2002 lava flow, one of Etna’s most explosive eruptions. Continue through the Ragabo Pine Forest to explore the Corruccio Lava Cave (1,350 m). Reach Piano Provenzana (1,800 m), a ski resort shaped by the 2002 eruption. Savor a rustic lunch at a local restaurant before returning via the Alcantara Valley, with panoramic views of medieval villages and the famous Gorges.

This morning you will meet your chef at a central location in Taormina. You will take a short walk to the outdoor market to buy fresh fruit and vegetable and other ingredients you will need for your cooking lesson. Then you will go to the cooking class location and learn how to prepare traditional Sicilian dishes. The lesson will conclude with a taste of your own creations accompanied by a glass of wine.
