Arrive at Palermo airport and transfer to the hotel in Sciaccca. Afternoon golf on West course. The beachside holes are the star attraction on the West course. The Mediterranean Sea first comes into view at the 8th and 9th, before returning for a four-hole encore at the 15th. It’s these final four holes, with their uninterrupted views, that steal the show. The 16th and 18th are beautiful two-shotters, while the 15th and 17th are dominated by watery backdrops. The 18th brings you home right along the shoreline, providing a rousing finish to an unforgettable round.

The undulating East course provides a truly memorable round of golf. Early highlights include the short par four 3rd and the early water holes at the 5th and 6th, each with stunning views. From the 13th onwards, the course turns seaward, plummeting and swooping across glorious links terrain. The best is saved for last, with the penultimate hole rising gently into the foot of a Sicilian hillside.

Transfer to Ragusa. Check into your hotel.  Afternoon free for enjoying the facilities of your hotel.

The Parkland course nestles among the wild olives and carobs typical of the Ragusa countryside, found all around up to the slopes of the plateau that continues up to Ragusa. The holes are well spread over the landscape and this is a feature of the course, making the player feel like he is completely surrounded by nature. The stone walls typical of the area, glimpses of which can be seen next to many of the holes, complement the course’s features. The 18 holes are adjacent to an archaeological site, and one hundred meters from hole 6 you can visit a 6th century B.C. Greek necropolis which is part of the property.

The Links course stretches over two big valleys, each with a man made lake.   Highly exposed to wind from the sea, the course is very challenging with slopes and mounds requiring “blind” shots. The 18 holes stretch out over two big valleys, each with a lake that makes the golfing more interesting. The course blends perfectly with the nature reserve, the sea and the island of Malta on the horizon.  The course is like a links, except for the presence of the two large artificial lakes that serve as irrigation reserves and oases for migrating birds. It is highly exposed to the dominant wind from the sea and has multiple tees for each hole to change the course from one day to the next.

Check out from your hotel in Ragusa and transfer to Taormina. Check into your hotel in Taormina and the remainder of the day is at your leisure.

Il Picciolo is a lovely traditional old club.   Host of four Italian Women’s Open tournaments and one Senior Open, Il Picciolo was the first course built in Sicily, in 1989.  Few courses can boast a smoking volcano as a backdrop – but Il Picciolo is one, laid out in a stunning location on the slopes of Mount Etna. This proximity to Etna provides the unusual hazard of lava flows on many of the holes and, with trees and vineyards also constantly in play, there is a premium on accurate driving. As a result, the course is more challenging than its relatively modest length might suggest.

Your Italy Vacation has come to an end as you transfer from your hotel to Catania airport and head back home.
