Availability: Tuesday thru Saturday*
Duration: 5 hours
Take an adventure to the authentic village of Chiavari and learn how to make the pesto sauce in Sestri Levante. As you walk through the maze-like alleyways in Chiavari, you will discover the old city center exclusive shops, and (on Fridays) the bustling market of this medieval town. Have the chance to see an artisan’s workshop who continues to honor the villages’ ancient traditions. The artisan creates handmade wooden stamps that are used to produce the shape of this regions famous Corzetti Pasta.
Then, you'll reach Sestri Levante by train for a private pesto making class. Grabbing your mortar and pestle, your skillful teacher will reveal the secret process to making the famous pesto sauce. At the end of the class, enjoy a relaxing light lunch with Trofie, a typical local hand-made pasta, and pesto sauce.
If you are staying at a centrally located hotel in Chiavari, your guide will meet you in the hotel lobby. Otherwise, you will meet your guide at Chiavari train station.
