Group Tour - Murano, Burano & Torcello - Excursion from Venice

Availability: Mon, Wed, Fri, Sat & Sun*

Duration: 4.5 hours, 9am - 1:30pm

*This tour operates from May to October.

Escape the crowds of Venice and explore Murano, a small island world-famous for its glass, Burano, famous for its lace-making traditions and for its colorful houses, and Torcello.

Leave from St. Mark's square dock on a private motor boat shared only with the other tour participants, and enjoy a ride along Venice Lagoon to reach the island of Murano. Founded between the 5th and 7th century, Murano experienced its major development after 1291, when all Venetian glass furnaces were moved here to avoid fires in town. The island quickly became Europe’s first supplier for high quality glass, and still today the Murano's furnaces make superb glass products ranging from beads and mosaic tiles to elaborate chandeliers and art works. Roam the picturesque streets, admire splendid ancient churches and crown your day with a visit to a traditional glass factory for an unforgettable firsthand experience: a live glass blowing demonstration!

Next, move on to Burano, a quaint fishermen village and a delightful treasure-chest of fascinating centuries-old traditions. Follow your guide along the canals and through the narrow streets lined by rainbow-hued houses, see how lace in every shape and size floats from the tiny shops, and breathe in the authentic atmosphere of this beautiful island.

Then, continue onto Torcello, considered “the garden of Venice”. Use your free time on this charming island to soak up the lush greenery and beautiful flowers or climb the bell tower of the local basilica for a gorgeous aerial view of the lagoon.

As you ride back to the city, you will stop on San Giorgio Island (when not available on Giudecca) for the best picture-perfect panoramic view of the floating city skyline. You will toast to your wonderful day spent on Venice's Lagoon islands with a glass of refined Prosecco before heading back to St. Mark's square.

Meeting point will be at a central location. Details will be provided in final documents.
