Itinerary for The Splendid Mediterranean - Yacht Club Exclusive Cruise: 

Day 1:  Arrive in Rome and transfer to the cruise port in Citavecchia.

Day 2:  Genoa is beautifully situated on the Mediterranean and offers a multitude of treasures, including its Via Aurea (Golden Avenue), delightful beaches, and a world-famous gastronomy. Explore the treasures of this great Ligurian capital on your first stop of your Splendid Mediterranean vacation.

Day 3:  Here in France, the joys are similar and as sublime as in their Italian counter-part. Be sure to soak up all if its natural splendor on the beach, experience the charms of its scenic town centers, and most importantly of all, to taste the delectable flavors of southern French food and wine!

Day 4:  This morning you wake up to the joys of Barcelona, the grand capital of Catalonia. Its ancient and modern heritages form a cultural braid that manifests itself in stunning examples throughout the city - art, architecture, and delectable cuisine.

Day 5:  Today we pass through a portal that takes us to both an entirely different continent and culture: the North African country Tunisia. The exquisite culture and surroundings of the ancient city of Tunis, once the capital of the Hannibal and the Carthaginians, will remind you of Italy, particularly of the southern regions, but will be remarkable distinct and unlike anything you've ever seen in Europe. Be sure to embrace as many facets of Tunis' culture as possible, which most certainly should include a tasting of delicious North African cuisine!

Day 6: Valletta, Malta's capitol and World Heritage site, is nothing short of an open air museum. It is a living experience of Baroque Architecture. The city is dotted with quaint cafes and wine bars and is a major tourist destination for this country.

Day 7: Messina is known as the door of Sicily. Its port is shaped like a sickle, has always been a trading city. It is a busy thoroughfare between the Island and the mainland.

Day 8/9: It is sad saying adieu to our magnificent Splendida, but now it is time to turn our attention to the rest of our vacation filled with the delights of Italy's beautiful scenery and cuisine.  Our private car transfer meets us at the port to bring our luggage to  the wonderful Rose Garden Palace Hotel, where we will stay while enjoying the next two days in scenic Rome.  Finally, we left the Rose Garden Palace Hotel and Rome behind as we are tranfered to the airport to return to the United States with the promise of returning to Italy for another magnificent ItalyVacation.
