14 Day Italy North Classic Starting in Rome Itinerary
Day 1 - USA Departure
Day 2 - Arrive in Rome - Afternoon at Leisure - Dinner in Hotel
Upon arriving to Rome airport, a Perillo representative will be waiting to greet you. A complimentary transfer will take you to your hotel at 10:00am, 12:30 pm or 2:30pm.
Day 3 - Rome Sightseeing - Afternoon at Leisure - Gala Dinner Dance
This morning we will venture out on a panoramic tour of imperial Rome including Castel Sant' Angelo, the Roman Forum, Largo Argentina, the Jewish Ghetto and the Circus Maximus. Then we'll enter the Colosseum to relive the brutal entertainment of the gladiators and the lions.
Day 4 - Rome Sightseeing - Vatican City
With our expert local guide, we'll tour the Vatican Museums, the Sistine Chapel and St. Peter's Basilica.
Day 5 - Rome - Naples - Pompeii - Sorrento - Dinner in Hotel
We're off to Naples where we will visit the heart of the city along the sea front promenade, seeing Castel dell'Ovo, San Carlo Opera House, Santa Lucia, Town Hall and the Angevin Castle. We travel on to Pompeii next.
Day 6 - Sorrento - Capri - Sorrento - Dinner Out
This morning we cross the Bay of Naples to the world's most enchanting island, Capri. We sail on to Sorrento for dinner.
Day 7 - Sorrento - Florence - Dinner at Hotel -
Departing Sorrento, our drive to Florence takes us through the rolling hills and scenic vineyards of Umbria and Tuscany.
Day 8 - Florence Sightseeing - Pisa - Wine Tasting in Tuscany - Florence
Today we'll enjoy a breathtaking panorama of Florence atop Piazzale Michelangelo, a tour of the Academy of Fine Arts where Michelangelo's proud David stands, the majestic Duomo (Cathedral), Giotto's Bell Tower, and the Baptistery with its renowned "Gates of Paradise" doors. In the afternoon we'll visit a typical Tuscan winery, then enjoy dinner on your own in Florence.
Day 9 - Full Day Florence Sightseeing Tour - Uffizi Gallery visit - Dinner Out
Today we'll enjoy a breathtaking panorama of Florence atop Piazzale Michelangelo, an extensive tour of the Uffizi Gallery a tour of the Academy of Fine Arts where Michelangelo's proud David stands, the majestic Duomo (Cathedral), Giotto's Bell Tower, and the Baptistery with its renowned "Gates of Paradise" doors.
Day 10 - Florence - Padova - Venice
From Florence, your motorcoach will take you to Venice with a stop in Padova to visit St. Anthony's Basilica. We arrive by boat into Venice.
Day 11 - Venice Sightseeing - Free Afternoon with Gondola ride - Dinner Out
This morning we will take a walking tour of St. Mark's Square, the great Byzantine Basilica di San Marco, the Bridge of Sighs, and an inside visit of the Doge's Palace by an expert local guide.
Day 12 - Venice - Verona - Lugano - Dinner in Hotel
Switzerland is our next destination, but we stop along the way to visit Verona and Juliet's famous balcony and then it is on to the alpine town of Lugano.
Day 13 - Lugano - Panoramic Lake Cruise - Dinner Out
Enjoy Lugano this morning on a guided walking tour through the traffic-free historic center. Weather permitted, we'll enjoy a panoramic cruise on Lake Lugano.
Day 14 - Flight Home
